Sieht flaches Anruf I Vorplumpsen und was das Brett holt. Many players get caught up here, but for me it is a simple fold. If the flop brings you trips then get set for a big payout. A lot of players don’t see trips coming so they will assume their hand is good. Make sure you extract as much as you possibly can from your opponent because trips pay out well. If you put your opponent on an overpair make sure you play extra aggressive to get the most out of them.
Playing mid-range pocket pair can get you in a lot of trouble. Make decisions easier for yourself by using a method you are comfortable with. Learn this method and use it as a weapon against your opponent.

How to Play no Limit Texas Hold’em part 2 - pot odds and bet sizes
Another key to success at the poker table is to look at the pot odds. You always want to think about what your odds of catching the draw are. For instance, if you have an open ended straight draw, your chance of catching the straight are 5:1. If the pot size is $10 and your opponent bets $10, making the pot $20, you would also have to put in $10 to call. Your pot odds are then 20:10, which is 2:1. Your odds of catching the straight are 5:1, which is worse than 2:1, so you should fold the hand. If the opponent were to bet $1, the odds would be 11:1 and thus your 5:1 odds of winning are much better and you should call the bet.
You may want to have a chart with all the odds of winning next to you while playing online poker, but for now, here are some odds you should remember:
Now if you get a strong hand and bet preflop like I said to do earlier, that doesn’t mean that you should keep betting once the flop is down. Just because you have a strong hand or even AA for example, doesn’t mean you’re going to win the hand. If the board shows 2s7hQd, you’re probably going to think that you have a very strong hand because there aren’t any straight or flush draws. This doesn’t mean that you are guaranteed to win the hand. For example, if someone called you preflop with 77 or QQ, they are going to have trips and win the hand unless you catch an A. Those would both be good starting hands pre flop, so it is not unlikely that someone would have called you preflop with one of those hands. If there is heavy betting, it is likely that you have been beat and you should fold. On the other hand, if the other players are not betting much, you may very well have the best hand and want to bet strong.
If you keep in mind all the things I have said and play smart, you will be well on your way to being a successful poker player. Remember that the best way to learn what to do in a tricky position is from experience, so play as much as you can. It would be another good idea to work on your sit and go game. Also, make sure you play at one of the best poker rooms, BodogPoker.

How to Play no Limit Texas Hold’em part 1 - preflop play
When you’re a beginner, the key is to play small stakes. When you start with a low limit, you won’t be risking much money, but will still be able to work on your internet poker strategy and get a hang of how to play.
Always have a minimum of 20 full buy-ins in your bankroll. If you don’t have that many buy-ins, you should not be playing in the limits you are and should drop down a level until you make enough money that you do have 20 full buy-ins. This may seem like a lot of buy-ins, but if you ever run into a string of bad luck and lose your buy-in time after time, you don’t want to be completely wiped out and bust your bankroll. With 20 full buy-ins, you will have enough buy-ins to cover you if this ever does happen to you.
If you’re doing things right, you should be folding about 80% of the time. Naturally, you’re going to fold junk hands, but you also want to fold hands that only have potential to be strong hands. By potentially strong hands, I mean hands such as 78o or A6s that are not strong preflop, but have potential to make a straight or flush. You are not likely to make the straight or flush and if you don’t, you will have lost the hand and all the money you’ve already put into it. You only want to play hands that are already strong. When you play a hand that is already strong, you have potential to make an even stronger hand and even if you don’t hit, you still have a strong hand.
When you do get a strong hand, make sure to bet it. Don’t limp in and just call the blinds because there may be other players with weaker hands that just want to see the flop because all it will cost is the blind. They may then get lucky and hit on the flop and beat you in the hand, even though you had a strong hand preflop. If you bet, you’re likely to get the players with weaker hands to fold. If you do have a strong hand, you should bet at least four big blinds plus one big blind for every person that has already called the blinds. So if you have a strong hand and three people before you called, bet seven big blinds.
Position is also key in selecting what hands to play. For instance, if you are in an early position you may want to tighten the requirements, and if you are a later position, you can loosen the requirements a little. That is because if you are one of the last players to call the blind or bet, you get to see if the other players have bet yet and if so, how much they have bet. That way you know about how strong your opponents hands are, and you know if you’re going to have to pay more than the blind to see the flop.
If you play the way I have just suggested, you will be playing a way that is called the tight-aggressive style. That means that you are tight when you have a bad hand and aggressive when you have a strong hand. It’s pretty simple, but if you can master that, you will be well on your pay to being a successful poker player.

Using Table Image In Texas Holdem
Every time you play poker, you should always be aware of the way your opponents are playing, and take note of how they have been playing in previous hands. This skill is vitally important, as the more you know about the way your opponents are playing, the better the decisions you can make when the action gets to you. However, another important factor to take into account is how your opponents perceive your particular style of play.
Having a good understanding of how your opponents view you as a player is equally as important as analysing the plays of everyone around you. Just as you base your decisions on the type of opponent you are playing against, the other players at the table will also be tailoring their actions based on the way you are playing. Therefore, if you can put yourself in your opponent’s position and consider how you are being perceived, it will add an extra edge to your ability to make the most profitable plays in Texas Holdem.
For example, lets say we have been sitting at one particular table for quite some time, and over a number of hands we having been playing quite aggressively and loosely. We have been frequently raising preflop, as well as putting in a number of continuation bets and bluffs on later betting rounds. The questions we have to ask ourselves are; how do my opponents perceive me as a player, and how will this affect their actions toward me?
If your opponents as particularly observant, they will notice that you are an aggressive player, and that you are likely to bet and raise with a wide range of hands. Consequently, they are far more likely to call you with mediocre holdings as they will be confident that you do not have as strong a hand as you represent by your betting. So if we know that our opponents are going to be playing like this against us, we can use our current table image to our advantage.
By instantly switching our play from being loose-aggressive and betting frequently to being more selective with the hands we are playing, we can start to extract some money from our opponents. Now that we know they will be calling our bets more frequently, we can start to only ever bet with stronger hands and make money from our opponents calling us with the belief that they have us beat. Eventually they will of course realise that we have changed our play, but we will still have ample opportunity to ride on their perception of our style of play.
Conversely, we can use our table image to our advantage when we are employing a tight style of play. If our opponents notice that we are only betting when we have the best of it, we can take advantage of this by betting more frequently, and picking off the occasional pot with a well-timed bluff. The key to using table image is to always be aware of how you are playing, and change your play accordingly to take advantage of it.
One key point that should be mentioned with table image is that you are relying on your opponents to take notice of your style of play for it to work effectively. For example, at the lower limits where there will be a number of amateur players, it is unlikely that they will be taking into account they way you are playing, as they are more than likely going to be more concerned with their own cards and the way they are playing. So don’t forget that your opponents should be playing at a decent level before you can utilize the ideas of table image, as a clueless opponent is not going to care about our table image.
In conclusion, you should remember to pay an equal amount of attention to your own playing style as you would to the playing styles of your opponents. It is not necessarily the key piece of Texas Holdem strategy that separates the winner from the losers, but it will certainly help to maximize your winnings from each session by exploiting the tendencies of your opponents. Its all well and good to know a lot about your opponents, but you are not going to get too far if you don’t know anything about your own play first

Attacking the blinds in No Limit poker games
Attacking the blinds is an easy way to say “putting in a late position preflop raise with the hopes of winning the blinds without a confrontation.” In no limit the blinds are so small in comparison to the starting stack sizes that I can imagine you wondering if it’s really worth trying to steal them. The answer is yes for several reasons:
Out of the four reasons above, this one is probably the least important. Yes it’s nice to win one and a half big blinds without any trouble but it’s not that much money in the grand scheme of things. But, if you can successfully steal the blinds twice an hour, you can improve your winrate by 3 big blinds per hour which is actually pretty decent money. Any no limit strategy that can improve your winrate is worth mentioning.
This is the best reason to attack the blinds. The power of position is immense in no limit hold ‘em. When your opponents try to defend their blinds, it bloats the pot and gives you the advantage of acting last every single betting round.
When you play hands from late position you can put pressure on your opponents by betting and raising when they look weak or taking free cards when you have draws. In addition, you will win pots more often when in late position and those pots are usually larger.
Your average no limit opponent is aware of the fact that your late position raises aren’t always made with the strongest of hands. What they don’t know is that it’s usually more expensive to defend their blinds than it is to let you take them for free. Your opponents will often try to defend their blinds with weak hands and the end result is that they find themselves stuck out of position in big pots with weak hands.
Think about how bad that sounds: (1) out of position (2) big pot (3) weak hand. The great thing about that terrible situation is that you’re the one who wins! Your opponents will often become passive calling stations in that situation so you get to control how the hand goes down. People who are usually decent poker players can turn into some real fish when trying to defend their blinds. You like playing against fish. Therefore you should attack the blinds.
If you’ve ever had sat next to someone who constantly attacks your blinds, you know how irritating it can get. Instead of getting to see free flops with your blinds, you’ve got that jerk on your right raising every other hand! Well, in poker, if something your opponents do to you irritates you; it’s probably a good thing for you to do to your opponents.
If you can get your opponents to play emotionally rather than logically, you stand to win a lot of money. Their bet sizes become bigger and they start making bad plays like trying to pull off huge bluffs on the river. If you’re lucky, you can get someone to tilt and throw a money party for the table.
Even if you can’t get to your opponents like that, you can affect their perception of you. If they see you in there betting and raising all the time, it’s going to make them more likely to pay off your big hands. Even if they know you only play loose in late position, they can’t help but see you as kind of loose the rest of the time also. It’s just the way the human brain works.

Re-buy Multi-table Tournaments Strategy and Tips
Re-buy tournaments are very unique and should be played in a particular way if you want to come out victorious. The first hour is all about chip accumulation and you should be trying to build your stack the entire time. Re-buying right at the beginning is a must because it is always profitable for you to obtain as many chips as possible. Now some players, during this first hour, like to build their stacks then sit out for the rest of the re-buy period. This is a terrible strategy as each player should have the confidence of managing their stack of chips.
Once this initial re-buy period is over, it is now time for add-ons (add-ons are a feature most internet poker sites have). Again gaining as many chips as possible is the point so spend the extra buy-in and add-on those chips. During the second hour of the tournament it is now time to play much tighter and try to find the opportunity to double up your chips. It is extremely crucial to double up your chips during this time and if you have more than one opportunity to do this then by all means take full advantage of that. You should also be paying more attention to the individual players because players will not be dropping as quickly and you might be at the same table during this entire time.
Hour three is another crucial point as the money becomes closer and blinds become higher. At this point you should have a good grasp on the table and players around you. It is now time to put all of your poker strategy into play as blind steals and position becomes very important. Take notice of your position, others chip stacks, and the play around the table. Is someone raising almost every hand? Or is some barely playing any hands? All of these questions are what will put you at the Final Table.
Whether you make the money at the end of hour 3 or at the beginning of hour 4 the play still becomes the same after you make the money. After making the money you must make more plays and overall see more flops to accumulate chips. Some of this truly depends of your chip stack, but even with a small chip stack you still must get your money in and not just get blinded out. If you have a chip stack of 10 big blinds or less at this period, your only play is all-in pre-flop or fold. Any other play at this point is just not a good one.
Building that large chip stack is the only way to make the glorious Final Table. Using your knowledge and position on the table you should be able to make smart choices which will gear you to that victory. Remember this strategy will change based on the number of entrants, type of game, and especially the buy-in. Make sure you are able to give at least 5 buy-ins into a re-buy/ add-on tournament. Sites like BodogPoker allow as many rebuys as you want, so its important to have enough money. Bankroll management is very important at this point and re-buy tournaments can become very costly.

The Road to the World Series of Poker (WSOP)
How about participating in world’s greatest poker tournament? How about going for the million dollars first prize? With more than 9,000 participants, the main event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is the biggest tourney in the world, and the one with the highest payout.
Actually, it is kind of easy to get in the tournament, if you have U$10,000 to spend. I will assume you don’t, or you wouldn’t be reading this article, so what you will find here is advice on possible roads to get your ticket online. Read on.
Most rooms offer several options of wsop satellites. In Direct satellites, you pay a high buy-in (usually $300 to $800 each) and play a multitable tournament that gives wsop packages as prizes. These packages are usually about U$12,000 (the buy-in+expenses), and the amount of them depends on the tournament rules. You have to read the description of the tourney to know how they will distribute prizes. You should be aware that in most of these qualifiers there is no money prize, so if you don’t finish in the prize zone, you usually get nothing.
If you don’t have the money to enter a direct satellite, don’t worry, take a look at the wsop super satellites. They offer entries to the expensive direct satellites. From the last 4 World Series Of Poker winners, 3 qualified online trough super-satellites, going to direct satellites, so it’s achievable. There are several options, and there are even super super satellites, like sit and gos, for example, which you could get entries to super satellites. If you are on a budget, super satellites offer a great opportunity. But if you are really in trouble when it comes to money, check below.
So you don’t have money to spend, and still think you should try your way into the WSOP? You could try the RARE WSOP freeroll qualifiers. The poker rooms sometimes offer this kind of tourney, but they usually have thousands of people, and only one prize. Be ready for the longest road ever, hours in front of the computer.
If the above freerolls feel a lot to you, I really recommend that you check private WSOP Freerolls. We have partnered with the greatest poker softwares to offer our players WSOP freeroll qualifiers for a more selected crowd. They are big tourneys, but not nearly as big as the open ones. Check our free poker tournaments page for more information about that.
If you are new to the game, we recommend that you first check our articles on poker strategy. The bonus tip of this article is for the tournaments that offer a small quantity of entries, like the freerolls, for example.
(1) Although tight is good for most of poker games, in tourneys that only award the first place, you have to be a lot different, specially in the beginning. Nobody wins these prizes without courage;
(2) You have to be a lot more aggressive, raising with moderate hands in good positions, seeing more flops, and taking advantage of when you make your hands;
(3) A lot of players are beginners, and you should take advantage of that at the first stages. Trap them, keep them in the hand if you have the nuts, and call their bluffs if you have a good hand;
(4) Do not bluff with crap hands! Having a lot of loose players, there is a big chance that you will get called, sometimes from people with better hands.
I hope we see each other in the main event. Send an e-mail if you have any doubt, and join our newsletter for more tips and articles. Good games for you!

This article is not addressed to those who are good or even intermediate Omaha Hi-Lo players. My goal is not to teach someone who might even be a better Omaha player than I, how to play his game, but rather to introduce the huge mass of newbies hitting the tables each day, to a few basic ideas that will make their lives less miserable at the table.
The problem with Omaha is, that it’s the second most popular online poker game. With Texas Holdem being at the forefront of the online poker craze, Omaha has to be content with the leftovers.
Even though almost every single online poker room features the game (whole networks have it implemented in their software like iPoker), the big difference in popularity is obvious as soon as one hits the lobby and takes a look at the available tables. Funny thing is, there’s lots of money to be made in Omaha. Because of the fact that if you play it, most of the time you’ll be confronted with clueless Texas-Holdem rejects. There’s actually more money in it than in Texas Holdem. But enough of generic issues. Let’s see how you can avoid being the laughing-stock of the online Omaha community.
First thing’s first: in Omaha, you’re dealt four hole cards instead of the two most poker players are used to. It’s quite funny how beginners get confused right away. At first it seems like a great thing that here are so many hole-cards, because they figure the better the odds for them to squeeze out a reasonable hand from the flop. Not so fast though. In Omaha you can only use 2 cards from your hand. That’s right: not 3, not 4 and not 1. It has to be 2. Also, you need to use exactly three cards off the board. Again, not 4 and not 2 but exactly 3. In the end, your hand will be made up of 2 cards from your pocket and three off the board.
I know this seems elementary, but I often see people at the online Omaha table showing down a flush which is made up by three cards from their pocket and 2 off the board. Then they are absolutely puzzled that they didn’t win the high-split.
Second basic Omaha concept: this game is a game of nuts. Most of the time, he who holds the nuts, wins. If you’re going for the low, make sure you can read the board and you have a pocket hand that “cooperates” with the board.
It often happens that your pocket cards are counterfeited by the board: take 2367 in the pocket, and 23478 on the board. What do we have here? You have 237 from your pocket hand counterfeited. That means the only card you can use for the low is 6. that way you’ll make a 23467.
You have to be able to tell whether you have the nuts or not. A2345 make the best possible low hand in Omaha. Compare everything to that and you’ll see where you are. A2 makes the best low in the case of a 456JQ.
The importance of starting hands in Omaha: In Omaha, a good starting hand selection can make a huge difference. While useful in Texas Holdem too, in Omaha, starting hand selection is an integral part of good play. This is because Omaha is a game of big edges. Texas Holdem is a game where one needs to systematically exploit small edges, Omaha on the other hand, is a game where only huge edges can be properly exploited.
This big difference between two seemingly related games is another trap, scores of rookies fall into.
The same factor makes schooling a lot less threatening on Omaha than in TH. In TH, when several bad players make bad calls, they actually stand a chance to beat the good player who made all the right choices.
In Omaha, schooling works the other way: the favorite enjoys the advantage not the schooling fish.

Low-Stakes Holdem: No-Limit versus Limit
Starting out in no-limit Texas holdem poker can be a bit intimidating. Most of us don’t have the bankroll to play at the high limits we may see on television, in the VIP room of the casino, or even at the far end of the screen on your online poker menu. When you first start playing Texas holdem, or when you’re on a limited bankroll, you’ll probably be looking at the lower stakes games. If you’ve just signed up with a website to get an online poker bonus, these games will stretch those bonuses further, and are a much better way to get a feel for the game than playing free online poker games where nothing is at stake.
When you do sit down at a game, it is key that you understand the difference between a low limit Texas holdem game and a low stakes no-limit holdem game. These are two different types of poker games with different strategic elements, and you need to understand the distinctions when you sit down at the poker table.
A $2/$4 limit holdem poker game and a no-limit holdem poker games with $2/$4 blinds are two very different animals, and in fact, the no-limit $2/$4 might be considered closer to a middle stakes no-limit game. In the limit game, $4 is the maximum you can bet. In the no-limit game, $4 is the minimum you can bet. You should be able to see very quickly why the $2/$4 no-limit game is a much higher stakes game requiring a much bigger bankroll. You could probably get away with bringing $100 to a $2/$4 limit game, although to be safe you should bring more. Unless you are a fairly skilled player or hit a run of luck right away, $100 is not likely to last you very long in a $2/$4 blind no-limit game. This does not mean you can’t lose $100 fairly quickly at limit or win with $100 in no-limit, it simply means the variance tends to be a bit lower in the limit game. If you’re looking for a low stakes no-limit game, you’re probably looking for blinds of $1/$2 or less.
You will probably find more risk takers in your low stakes no-limit holdem game than in a low stakes limit game. Limit players tend to be a bit more risk averse than no-limit ones. This in no way makes them bad players. In fact, players who are looking to play the odds and are content to amass many small victories rather than try to ride big waves looking for a giant score are among the best poker players. Before the latest poker boom, most professional players were the most highly skilled at limit poker. You are unlikely to find many professionals at your low stakes no-limit holdem poker table, which makes it a great place to learn your own weaknesses and how to exploit the poker weaknesses of others.
In limit poker, your goal is to win extra bets when you have the best of it and save bets when you don’t, accumulating small advantages that add up over the course of the session. In no-limit, you’re waiting for the opportunity to win a big pot, and trying to avoid the pitfalls of losing one. In your low stakes no-limit holdem games, the pots may never seem to get that big, but you need to consider them relative to the size of the blinds. Winning $20 in a no-limit texas holdem pot may not seem like a big deal, but in a game with $.25 and $.50 blinds, that’s forty big blinds. If you’re skilled enough to make it to a $10/$20 blind no-limit Texas holdem game, that’s the equivalent of $800. Looking at it that way should make winning those pots all the more satisfying.
