Pook online 2 van de moordenaar - door John Vorhaus
John Vorhaus is een gekruide pookdeskundige. Hij speelt, leest, en schrijft over pook sinds 1988, makend tot hem een zeer ervaren auteur. Dit boek, samen met eerste (de Pook van de Moordenaar online: Verpletterend het Spel van Internet) zijn waarschijnlijk de beste bronnen voor informatie die bij Internet pook wordt geleid.
Vorhaus schrijft op een eigenaardige en interessante manier, als hij sprak aan de lezer, zelfs vergend sommige tijden om vragen te stellen of bezinningen voor te stellen. Hij schrijft op een gelezen manier, soms zelfs gebruikend gemeenschappelijke jargons.
In dit boek, de auteur niet veel over bankrollbeheer, en spreekt hoe te om uw lijst van het contant geldspel te kiezen (als deed hij in het eerste boek). Hij concentreert zijn het schrijven bij het profileren van de spelers, zitten-en-gaat strategie, hoofd-op spel, pitfalls van contant geldspelen, en multi-lijsttoernooien en satellieten.
In de eerste sectie - het Spel van de Mening - hij bespreekt kort pookpsychologie, en waarom veel uneducated mensen geld op het spel verliezen. Het beste deel is waar hij de codes beschrijft hij aan profiel online spelers, volgens hun acties gebruikt. Bijvoorbeeld, zou WCWC iemand zijn wie „met Kaas“ - „het roepen van posten“ zal roepen.
Deel 2 behandelt zitten-en-Gos. He talks about strategy, and emphasize the “truths” of these tables, like “raises look like aces to most players”, and “patience is precious when chips are cheap”. It’s a great read.
In the third part, he goes to big tournaments, and describes early, middle and late strategy. From this section comes one of the best phrases in the book: No limit Texas hold’em has been described as “hours of boredom punctuated by moments of pure terror”.
Part 4 is the Cash Game section, where he talks about the risks and benefits of this kind of poker.
In the last part, he addresses more specific topics, like helping software, poker addiction, the virtual money craziness, and other stuff.
And as he writes on part 5:
